Some manufacturers and models have different seat angles depending on the frame size. To find out whether this applies to your model, you can check the geometry data. For example, a bike model in size S may have a seat angle of 75°, while the same model in size XL has an angle of 72.75°. In order to avoid a large number of mounts that are adapted to different frame sizes and seat angles, we often choose an average value for our mounts. This means that we generally use the average frame size of the bike model and the corresponding seat angle. For the extreme frame sizes (such as XXS or XL), this can mean that there may be a barely noticeable deviation (+/- 0–1.5°) in the horizontal alignment.
From our point of view, this is the safest way for you to find the right mount for your seatpost for some manufacturers. Some manufacturers release new bike models during the year, which means that the specification Canyon Speedmax CFX (2023), for example, may be incorrect. By specifying the manufacturer’s unique article/model number, you are on the safe side.
For some manufacturers, this information is given on the seatpost itself (possibly somewhat hidden). You can also usually find this information on the manufacturer’s product page. If you are unsure, please send us an email to hello@wattsandgrams.de.
We are constantly expanding our range. If you have a specific development request, please contact us by email at hello@wattsandgrams.de and we will look for a solution together.
